Plain Ebernezer Buck

Plain Ebernezer Buck was conceived in 1884 in Colchester, England and moved to Canada in 1902.

He went to Macdonald College at McGill University and got a Diploma from Cornell University.





 He at that point worked at the Central Experimental Farm in Ottawa. In 1920, he joined the Department of Horticulture at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver as a scene modeler and an Assistant Professor. He arranged and made the woods on the UBC grounds, including the Botanical Gardens. He resigned in 1943 and moved toward becoming Supervisor of Campus Development. He was a sanction part and President of the Town Planning Institute of Canada. He was additionally a Charter Member of the Canadian Society of Technical Agriculturists, an individual from the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Canadian Horticultural Association, the National Rose Society, a privileged individual from the B.C. Society of Landscape Architects, and a B.C. agent to the National Plant Registration Bureau.

He kicked the bucket in 1970.

On the UBC grounds, the wellspring before the University Library is devoted to him. A supplied seat is named for him at Stanford University, where Myron Scholes is presently the Frank E. Buck Professor of Finance.
